The Special Procedures

The Special Procedures

The Human Rights Council has established a series of mechanisms tasked to address 38 human rights themes , and the human rights situations in eight countries. The work of individuals appointed to the special procedures consists of visits to countries that invite them to investigate issues related to their work, and interaction with individuals, governments, and civil society to investigate various aspects of human rights. The last time a Special Rapporteur visited Iran was in 2002.
